A 17-year old girl has been traumatized in Lagos State after her 38-year old biological father, Sola Lawson, allegedly lured her into a sex romp by fondling her breasts and getting her confused before he eventually defiled her.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened in 2019 at Baoku Street,  Orimolade area of Ifako Ijaye, Lagos, where they reside with the other members of the family.

According to the girl, after the incident that happened three years ago when she 14, she became traumatized having faced the agony of losing her virginity through her father. She informed her mother about what happened but nothing was done about it. She then went to her school and informed the school counselor about her agony over the years.

The school management took up the matter and reported to the Police at Isokoko Division. Her father, Sola, was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over the conduct.

He was said to have denied committing such crime claiming that he had his own wife and four children including the victim. But the victim insisted and narrated how he fondled her breasts and she was unable to resist him before he penetrated her.

The Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for defilement, which attracts several years of imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before the Court.

When he was arraigned, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.

The Presiding Magistrate,  Mrs. O. A. Layinka, ordered his remand in the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when the DPP’s report will be ready.

The Court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP since the matter was a capital offence punishable by life imprisonment or several years of imprisonment.

The matter was adjourned till 4th June, 2022, for the report of the DPP to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
