A 38-year old man, Seyi Shodiya has displayed what could be described as wickedness when he brutally attacked 2-year old baby girl and smashed her on the floor while quarreling with her parents.

Though the victim, Chidinma Okasu did not die, she was badly injured and was rushed to hospital where doctors were battling to save her life.

The incident happened at Ikotun area of Lagos where the suspect and the victim’s parents reside.

Shodiya has been arrested, charged before a Lagos court and was remanded in prison custody for the alleged offence.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the innocent victim suffered her fate during a quarrel between her parents and the suspect which landed her in a hospital.

It was gathered that instead of Shodiya fighting her parents, he descended on the girl and assaulted her before their neighbours attempted to rescue her.

But by then, he had already smashed her on the floor.

The matter was reported to the police at Ikotun Division and Shodiya was arrested and taken to the station.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Shodiya admitted that he did it out of anger caused by her parents which he could not bear.

He was charged before Ogba Magistrates court for unlawful indecent assault and he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor told the court that the victim was lying critically at the hospital and the suspect might escape if he was granted bail because of the condition of the victim.

The presiding Magistrate, Mrs Davis Abegunde ordered him to be remanded in prison custody pending when the condition of the victim improved.
