A 38-year old man, Jimoh Ojo, has landed in trouble in Lagos State after he allegedly lured and engaged his neighbour’s 11-year old girl in a sex romp and was caught in the act.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Ojo, has been arrested.
The incident happened at Adebimpe Street in Maya area of Ikorodu, Lagos, where they reside.
According to Police sources, Ojo’s journey to prison started after he allegedly lured the girl into his apartment, indecently removed her pants and penetrated her in the process.
However, during the act, they were caught and the girl’s parents reported the alleged dastardly act to the Police in the area and Ojo was arrested. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Command for interrogation over his conduct.
During the interrogation, Ojo reportedly admitted to have done so but with the consent of the girl.
However, the Police found him culpable for defilement because the victim is still a minor and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
When he was arraigned, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Mr. Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Layinka, ordered his remand in custody pending when the DPP’s report will be ready and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned till 25th July, 2022, for report of the DPP to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
