A 39-year old man, Innocent Etolue, has been arrested in Lagos State for allegedly attempting to seduce a 15-year old girl by fondling her private parts, which she resisted.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Iworo Street, Coker, Aguda area of Lagos State, where they reside.
According to the Police, the suspect lured the girl to an undisclosed place and tried seducing her by touching her private parts in order to arouse her into sexual penetration.
However, the girl resisted the act and exposed him by informing her parents about what happened. The matter was then reported to the Police at Igando Division and the suspect was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over the alleged conduct.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
He pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O Osunsanmi, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment.
The matter was adjourned till 8th June, 2023, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
