A 39-year old man, Nnamdi Daniel Ihuoma, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly luring a 13-year old girl into sex by fondling her breasts and getting her confused.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ajibodu Street, Karaole Estate, Ogba area of Lagos, where they reside.
The suspect, Nnamdi, allegedly lured the victim into his apartment and tricked her into sex romp having fondled her breasts in order to get her confused.
The victim later realized herself, raised alarm and reported to her parents that she was raped by the suspect, Nnamdi.
The alleged rape was reported to the Police at Area G Command, Ogba and he was arrested and detained for interrogation over the alleged offence.
During interrogation, Nnamdi denied raping her and stated that he slept with her with her consent. But the victim insisted that she was raped because she never consented to it.
The Police found Nnamdi culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for defilement, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
However, the Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned after the prosecutor,  DSP Kehinde Ajayi, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice since the allegation was a capital offence for the interest of justice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs E. Kubeinje, ordered the defendant to be remanded in custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice as well as directing the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to8 DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned till 6th March, 2024, for the report of the DPP’s advice to be ready, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
