Man, 40, Arrested For Seducing Neighbour’s 12-year Old Girl

Police operatives from SCID, Panti, Yaba, have a arrested a 40-year old man, Joseph Ekanem, for allegedly seducing and engaging his neighbour’s 12-year old girl in sex romp in Lagos State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Okeowo Street, Bariga area of Lagos, where they reside.

The action has landed him in big trouble now because he has been arrested and charged to Court as the alleged defilement attracts several years of imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty.

According to Police sources, the suspect, Ekanem, returned early from work in the afternoon and lured the little girl in his apartment, where he reportedly seduced her by touching her body including her breasts and she got confused.

He reportedly pulled off her pant and then forcefully penetrated her private part repeatedly before he eventually allowed her to go having satisfied himself.

However, after the act, it was exposed and the parents of the victim reported to the Police. Ekanem was arrested and detained for interrogation.

At the station, he reportedly admitted he slept with the girl with her consent but the victim denied it claiming she was seduced to do it without her consent.

The Police found Ekanem culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ebute Metta Magistrates Court for the alleged offence. 
The Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Inspector O. Kehinde, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.

The Presiding Chief Magistrate, Mrs A.A. Oshoniyi, ordered his remand in Correctional Centre pending the outcome of DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP while the matter was adjourned till 9th September for report of the DPP to be available.
