A 40-year old man, Folarin Raufu, has landed in trouble after he was allegedly caught kissing and touching a 5-year old girl’s private part at Omole Estate, Lagos, where they reside.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Raufu, was arrested for molesting the little girl, charged before the Court and then remanded in Correctional Centre for the alleged offence.
The man, Raufu, who resides at Block 20, Flat 2 in the Estate, reportedly lured the victim to the apartment and was sexually molesting her before he was caught.
The alleged molestation was reported to the Police at Ojodu Division; Raufu was arrested and detained at the station where he was interrogated over the dastardly act.
He was said to have denied penetrating the little girl but claimed he only kissed her mouth and touched her private part.
The Police found him culpable and thereafter charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty.
However, the Court ordered him remanded in custody after the Prosecutor, Supol Bisi Ogunleye, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
Hence, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubenje, did not take his plea and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned till 9th September, 2020, for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available while Raufu will remain in custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s report.
