Man, 40, Docked For Stealing Company’s N12m Crates Of Guinness Small Stout

A 40-year old man, Adekunle Oluwadare, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing 720 crates of Guinness Small Stout worth N12m belonging to Tesmas Ventures Limited. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 22nd December,2024, in Ogba area of Lagos where the

 

According to the Police, the suspect and others now at large conspired and stole the items worth the said amount. The company later discovered that the items were missing and reported to the Police at Area G Command, Ogba, Lagos.

 

The Police moved into action, eventually arrested the suspect and detained him at the Command for interrogation over the missing items.

 

After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

The charges read:

“That you, Adekunle Oluwadare and others now at large on the 22nd day of December, 2024 at about 0900hrs at Ogba, Lagos in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did conspire among themselves to commit felony to wit: Stealing and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 411 of the criminal Law, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

 

COUNT II:”That you, Adekunle Oluwadare, on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district, did steal, 720 crates of Guiness Small Stout valued N12,000,000 (Twelve Million Naira Only) property of Tesmas Ventures Limited and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280 and punishable under section 287 of the criminal Law, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

 

However, he pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, granted him bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
