A 26-year old man, Iyepade Ibiororo, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly engaging a 13-year old girl in sex romp after sucking her breasts and getting her confused.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Ibiororo, has been arrested and charged for defilement.
The incident happened at Sule Dada Street, Iba area of Lagos State, where they reside.
The suspect was alleged to have lured the girl into his apartment and engaged her in sex after he had fondled her breasts, got her confused and then penetrated her.
The matter was reported to the Police in the area and the suspect was arrested and later transferred to the Gender Section of the Command for interrogation.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for defilement, which attracts several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.
The prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, informed the Court that the alleged offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of the State and asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Layinka, ordered his remand in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned till 4th July, 2023, for the report of the DPP’s legal advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
