Man, 42, Docked For Forging Court Seal & Commissioner Of Oath’s Signature For Affidavit

A 42-year old man, Oshodi Tosin, has been arrested and charged for allegedly forging Ikeja High Court seal and Commissioner of Oath’s signature on affidavit issued to the public.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Tosin, was caught at the High Court with the affidavit, which he had already signed and handed over to the Police at Ikeja Division for interrogation.
After interrogation, the Police found him culpable to have committed the alleged offence and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
He was charged for the alleged conspiracy and forgery under the Criminal Laws of the State.
The charges read:
COUNT I: That you, Oshodi Tosin ‘m’ and others now at large, on the 31st day of July, 2024, at about 1500hrs, at High Court, Ikeja, Lagos, in the Ikeja Magistérial District, did conspire with others now at large to commit felony to wit forgery and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 411 of Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.”
COUNT II: That you, Oshodi Tosin ‘m’ and others now at large, on the same data, time and place in the aforesaid magisterial district, did forge the seal of Ikeja High Court Lagos and the signature of the Commissioner for Oath, High Court, Ikeja, Lagos, on an affidavit dated 25th July, 2024 and issued same to one Ezeokike Nzubechukwu ‘m’ and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 363 and punishable under Section 365 of Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.”
However, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor,  Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, granted him bail in the sum of N2.5m with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 24th September, 2024, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
