Man, 42, Docked Over Alleged Defilement Of Colleague’s 3-Year Old Daughter

A 42-year-old man, Ekene Agha, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly defiling his colleague’s 3-year old daughter by inserting his finger into her private part.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Agha, has been arrested.
The incident happened at 40 Ago Palace Way, Okota area of Lagos.
The suspect has been charged before the Yaba Magistrates Court for two-court charge of indecent assault and defilement under the Criminal Law of Lagos State.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Supol Thomas Nurudeen, told the Court that the defendant, under the pretext of playing with the girl, inserted his finger in her genital and committed the alleged offences contravened Sections 135 and 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 which attracts several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before Court.
However, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor,  Supol Thomas Nurudeen, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
The Presiding Chief Magistrate, Mr. Peter Nwaka, ordered the defendant to be remanded in custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the case file and forward a copy to the State Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.
The matter was adjourned till 15th March, 2023, for mention for the DPP’s report to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
