A 42-year old man, Seyi Olowookere has been sent to prison after he allegedly lured his neighbour’s 12-year old boy and raped him inside his apartment in Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Alhaji Masha Kilo Street in Surulere area of Lagos where they resided.
The suspect was arrested and charged before the Ogba Magistrates court for rape and the court ordered him to be remanded in prison custody over the alleged act.
It was gathered that Olowookere came back from work early when the parents of the boy were not around. He reportedly lured the victim into his apartment, locked his door from inside, removed the victim’s clothes and had anal sex with him.
He was said to have penetrated his anus after he forcefully removed the boy’s clothes, rob some cream on his manhood and inserted it. He later allowed the victim to go and warned him never to tell anyone what happened but the victim later opened up.
P.M.EXPRESS scooped that the assault got exposed when the victim reported what happened to his parents who did not take the matter lightly. The parents went to the police and reported the alleged rape. The suspect was arrested and the matter was then transferred to Gender section of the Police at Command, ikeja, Lagos.
It was gathered that the suspect reportedly admitted claiming that he did so to satisfy his sexual desire.
He was charged to court for rape by forceful penetrating the victim’s anus.
The court refused to take his plea. Rather, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi ordered the prosecutor, Supol E. Ayomire to send his file to DPP for advice.
The suspect was then remanded in prison custody pending the report of the DPP. The matter was adjourned till 31 May, 2018.
