P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Oyeleke Street, Shasha area of Lagos, where they reside.
According to the Police, the suspect, George, lured the victim into his bedroom when his wife was not around, forcefully removed her pants and penetrated her in the process.
Having satisfied himself, he allowed her to go but warned her not to tell anyone about it including his wife. But the victim revealed it when she could not bear the trauma as she informed her mom about what happened.
The matter was reported to the Police and the man, George, was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the Lagos State Police Command for interrogation over his conduct.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
He was ordered to be remanded in custody following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A Layinka, did not take his plea or grant him bail rather directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for advice since the alleged offence involved capital punishment.
The matter was adjourned till 13th March, 2023, for the report of DPP’s advice to be ready, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
