A 43-year old staff of St. Francis Catholic Secondary School, Lagos State, Ogunbiyi Andrew Ademola, has been arrested and charged for allegedly engaging a 12-year old male student in anal sex inside the school premises.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened between 8pm and 9pm on 18th June, 2024, at the school premises located at Idimu Road, Ikotun area of Lagos, where the suspect was engaged as a school teacher.
According to the Police, the school teacher allegedly lured the victim after the school had closed within the premises and penetrated his anus for sexual satisfaction.
The matter was reported to the Police at Ikotun Division. He was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for statutory rape, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
However, the Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Inspector John Iberedem, asking the Court to give a date and refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubenije, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned till 24th July, 2024, for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
