A 43-year old man, Ikpobe Henry, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for indecently assaulting his biological daughter, 15, by romancing and touching her private parts to seduce her for four years.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Alaja Road, Ayobo area of Lagos, where they reside.

He was charged for unlawfully and indecently dealing with the victim by touching her breasts, buttocks and even using her hand to touch his dick in order to satisfy his sexual desires.

According to the Police, the dastardly act happened between 2021 and 27th June, 2024, and he had constantly molested the victim while asking her to keep it secret.

However, the victim later exposed him and the matter was reported to the Police at Ipaja Division. He was then arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.

After rounds of interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence under the Criminal Laws of the State.

The charge read: That you, Ikpobe Henry ‘M’ between the year 2021 and up till on the 27 June, 2024, at about 1.000am  2:00am at No. 52. Alaja Roud, Ayobo, Lagos in the Ikeja Magistarial District did unlawfully and indecently deal with your biological daughter, by touching her breast, her buttocks and even using her hand to touch your penis without her consent and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 135(1) and (2) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

The Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice.

The matter was adjourned till 5th August, 2024, for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
