A 45-year old man, Alemayo Emmanuel Abiodun, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly defiling his 11-year old daughter by engaging her in both anal and normal sex for the past five years.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Itire Road, Mushin area of Lagos, where they reside.
The suspect, Abiodun, reportedly started molesting the daughter when she was 6 years by touching her breasts and inserting his fingers into her private parts till 10th August, 2023, when she exposed him.
Having widened her private part for easy penetration, he defiled her severally within those years by engaging her in both anal and normal sex.
The act got exposed after the victim, who was said to be traumatized by the fact her father was molesting her, summoned the courage after she warned him not to sleep with her again but he refused; she then exposed him.
The matter was reported to the Police and he was arrested and detained at Ilupeju Police Station for interrogation over the alleged dastardly conduct.
After rounds of interrogation, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for defilement, which attracts several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.
However, when he was arraigned, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O Osunsanmi, ordered his remand in custody pending the outcome of the DPP advice because of the nature of the matter.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when the DPP’s report will be ready, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
