A 45-year old man, Samuel Usang, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly engaging his neighbour’s 12-year old daughter in sex inside the toilet.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Usang, has been arrested and charged for the alleged defilement.
The incident happened on 15th August, 2025, at Shanti Street, Morogbo, Badagry Lagos, where they reside.
According to the Police, the victim went to the toilet to urinate and the suspect followed her. Inside the toilet, he engaged her in sex. But while still in the act, one of their neighbours caught them and raised alarm which attracted other neighbours.
The matter was then reported to the Police in the area. The suspect was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the State Police Command for further investigation.
After rounds of interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charge read:
“That you, Samuel Usang ‘m’, on the 15th day of August 2025, at about 100hours, at No. 11, Shanti Street, Morogbo, Badagry area of Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did defile the victim, 12years old by having sexual intercourse with her while she was urinating inside their toilet and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
However, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O.Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
