Man, 47, Caught Having Sex With Girl, 6

A 47-year old man, one Michael Agboghorona, has been ordered to be remanded in prison custody after he was caught having sex with a 6-year old girl.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that this followed his arrest and arraignment before the court over the dastardly act.
The incident happened at Alahun Osunba Street, Mazamaza area of Lagos where they reside.
It was gathered that the defendant, Michael, returned from work at about 5pm, lured the victim into his apartment, removed her pant and defiled her.

However, while he was still in the act, one of their neighbours who suspected the movement of the victim to his apartment went there and forced him to open the door. It was then the victim revealed that he raped her.

The matter was reported to the police in the area; Michael was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the Police Command for investigation.
The suspect was said to have initially denied engaging her in sex but the victim was brought and she narrated what happened.
During investigation, the police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for defilement.
The offence was said to be a capital offence which attracts long imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Benson Emerhi, asked the court for the matter be taken to DPP for advice.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Sule-Amzat, ordered Michael to be remanded in prison custody without an option of bail.
The court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned till 8th April, 2019, for the report of the DPP to be ready.
