Man, 48, Docked For Beating Neighbour & Allowing Wife To Bite Him

A 48-year old man, Omoataman Fidelis has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly assaulting his neighbour, Akinleye David Ayelabowo and allowed his wife to Inflict injury on him with human bites.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 27th Day of March, 2026, at Road I House 53, Progress Estate, Baruwa Ipaja, Lagos, where they reside.
According to the Police, the man and the complainant had a disagreement over an undisclosed matter, which led to exchange of words. In the process, the man attacked him, allowed his wife to bite him at the back and inflicted injury on him.
The matter was reported to the Police at Ipaja Division. The man was then arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over the alleged conduct against the complainant.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found the man culpable and charged him before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
The charges read:
“That you, Omoataman Fidelis ‘M’, and two others at large on the 27th Day of March, 2026, at about 0530hrs at Road I House 53, Progress Estate, Baruwa Ipaja, Lagos, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did conspire to commit felony to wit assault occasioning harm against one Akinleye David Ayelabowo ‘M’ and thereby committed an offence punishable Under Section 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, Omoataman Fidelis ‘M’, and two others at large on the same date, time and place, in the aforementioned magisterial district, did unlawfully assault Akinleye David Ayelabowo ‘M’ by using fist blows and allowing your wife, Omoataman Christiana ‘F’, to inflict human bite on his back and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 170 (la-b) and punishable under Section 173 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
However, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, F.R. Ogunkoyede, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood, tax payment and addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
