Man, 48, Docked For Hitting Wife With Plank During Public Brawl

A 48-year old man, Nwabuokei Uzoma, has demonstrated his strength on his wife, Christiana Emokhoh, by hitting her with a plank and fainted during a public brawl in Lagos State. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Nureni Akinfunde Street by K & S bus stop, Abaranje area of Lagos where they reside.

 

During the fight, the man caused havoc in the area after he used the plank, hit her on the head, she slumped and became unconscious because of the injury she sustained.

 

She was taken to an undisclosed hospital, where doctors revived her and she had been receiving treatment while the matter was reported to the Police at Ikotun Division. Police operatives arrested the man and detained him at the station.

 

The cause of the fight was not disclosed by the Police, who alleged that he caused havoc in the area when he descended on his wife.

 

Part of the charges read:

“That you, Nwabuokei Uzoma ‘m’, on   5th July,2024 at No 13. Nureni Akinfunde street, K&S  bus stop, Abaranje, Ikotun in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conduct yourself in a manner likely to cause a breach of the peace by causing havoc against one Christiana Emokhoh ‘f’ within your apartment knowing fully that you are father of her three children and thereby committed an offence contrary to punishable under Section 168(d), of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.”

 

“That you, Nwabuokei Uzoma ‘m’, on same date, time and, in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did assault one Christiana Emokhoh, ‘f’ your wife by hitting her with a plank on the head, which made her faint and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable Section 172, of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.”

 

“That you, Nwabuokei Uzoma ‘m’, on 6th July, 2024 at about Es at No 13, Nureni Akifunde Street, K&S bus stop, Abaranje, Ikotun In the aforesaid Magisterial District, did threatened to kill one ana Emokhoh ‘f your wife with a kitchen knife and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 56(2), of the te Criminal Law, 2015.

 

However, he pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor Supol Akeem Raji then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
