Man, 50, Docked For Swindling Company Of N60m Under False Pretence

A 50-year old man, Klivert Nangeya Mbile, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly swindling a company, Axel 24 Enterprises, to the tune of N60m under the false pretence of supplying materials to the company.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, where the company is located.
According to the Police, the suspect had between April, 2024 and June, 2024, conspired and got the money in question and told the company that he was going to buy Zinc and Lead materials in Niger State.
However, after the company gave him the money, he bolted away and did not supply the items.
The matter was reported to the Police at Commissioner of Police Special Squad in Ikeja, Lagos. The operatives moved into action, eventually arrested the suspect and detained him at the Command for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
The Police found him culpable after interrogation and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for conspiracy,  obtaining under false pretence and stealing.
The charges read:
COUNT: That you, Klivert Nangeya Mbile “m’ and others now at large, between April and June, 2024 at Axel 24 Enterprises Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in the Lagos Magisterial district, did conspired among yourselves to commit felony to wit obtaining money under false pretence and stealing and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411 of the criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria. 2015.”
COUNT II: That you, Klivert Nangeya Mbile ‘m’ and others now at large on same date, time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district, did obtain the sum of Sixty Million Naira (N60,000,000.00) property of Alexander Adejumo and Company Axel 24 Enterprise Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Lagos under a pretext of buying Zinc and Leads materials from Niger State and you thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 314 of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
COUNT III: That you, Klivert Nangeya Mbile ‘m’ and others now at large on same date, time and place at the aforementioned magisterial district, did steal the sum of Sixty Million Naira (N60,000,000.00) property of Alexander Adejumo and Company Axel 24 Enterprise Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, and thereby committed an offen punishable under Section 287 (5) (a) (b) (c) of the criminal law of Lagos State Nigeria, 2015.”
He pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Chief Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, granted him bail with sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
