A 51-year old man, Kehinde Gafar, has landed in trouble in Lagos State after he got information of sure bet of numbers of a winning Lotto Lottery and used another man’s N1.4m to stake the bet, which failed and he lost the whole money.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the owner of the money, Oladimeji Akanmu, went to the Police and reported the incident.

The incident happened at Oke Isagun area of Meiran, Lagos where the complainant, Akanmu, owns a shop where he sells Cement to customers.

Police sources stated that the suspect,  Gafar, sold some bags of Cement worth the said amount belonging to the complainant, Akanmu and instead of remitting the money to him, he used it for betting without informing the owner with the hope the money will be doubled in millions.

However, when the result of the bet came out, he lost woefully because he did not win even a dime. The owner of the money then asked him to pay him and it was then that he opened up and told him that he used the whole money for Lotto lottery after he got information that some numbers were sure bet and he staked the money there.

He further explained when the result of the Lotto came out,  it turned out that the numbers did not win anything and he lost the whole money in the game including his own money.

The matter was reported at Meiran Police Division and Gafar was arrested and detained for interrogation over his conduct. While being interrogated, he admitted before the Police and stated that he lost the money to Lotto and have no money to refund the owner.

The Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for stealing.

When he was arraigned, he pleaded guilty before the Court.
The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for him to present the facts of the matter before the Court to enable the Court to sentence him accordingly.
