A 51-year old man, Gbenga Oladiran, has landed in trouble in Lagos State after he allegedly molested a 9-year old girl by luring and touching her private part in order to seduce her but the girl exposed him.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Owodunni Close, New Town, Igando area of Lagos State, where they reside.
The Police alleged the suspect to have lured the girl to his apartment and molested her by kissing and carrying her on his lap touching her private part in order to satisfy his sexual desire.
Having satisfied himself, he allowed her to go but the girl got home and told her parents what happened.
The matter was reported to the Police and he was arrested. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Lagos State Command.
During interrogation, he denied doing so but the girl narrated how it happened and he was speechless.
The Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before the Court.
When he was arraigned, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Victor Eruada, asked the Court to give a date for hearing to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence which brought him before Court.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M. O. Tanimola, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum and ordered his remand in custody pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
The matter was adjourned till a later date for mention due to the ongoing transfer of Magistrates in various Court in Lagos State.
