A 52-year old man, Anthony Sunday, has been arrested and charged before Court for allegedly engaging his 17-year old biological daughter in sex romp for the three months in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ibro Street, Yewa Estate, Isawo Road, Agric area of Ikorodu, Lagos State where they reside.
The man, Sunday, was said to have engaged his daughter in sex romp between January and March 2021 and the victim was traumatized over the dastardly act by her own father.
She was said to have revealed the trauma to the neighbours, who then contacted the Police in the area and her father was arrested. He was then transferred to the Gender Section of the Command for interrogation over the act.
During interrogation, Mr. Sunday reportedly admitted and was subsequently charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for defilement, which attracts life imprisonment if he was tried and found guilty before Court.
However, the Court did not take his plea and ordered his remand in Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, following a motion by the prosecutor, Mr. Victor Eruada, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O. Tanimola, denied him bail and directed the Prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP while he will remain in custody pending the outcome of DPP’s advice.
The matter may likely be transferred to the High Court if the DPP finds him culpable and recommends his trial for the alleged offence over jurisdiction.
