Man, 52, Engages Neighbour’s Girl, 10, In Sex Romp

A 52-year old man, Akinbode Ogunseinde, has been arrested in Lagos after he allegedly engaged his neighbour’s 10-year old girl in a sex romp.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Aduragbemi Street, Oworoshoki area of Lagos, where they reside.

What made the man, Akinbode, to engage the victim in such act considering their age difference was not disclosed by the Police.
The Police alleged that on 17th September, 2019, the suspect, Akinbode Ogunseinde, lured the victim into his apartment, removed her pant, forcefully penetrated and injured her in the process.
The matter was reported to the Police and the man was arrested. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Command for investigation.
After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and later charged the man before the Ogba Magistrates Court but the Court did not take his plea.
Hence, the prosecutor, Supol Benson Emerhi, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP given the seriousness of the offence the defendant was alleged to have committed and the victim was a minor.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Sule-Amzat, denied the defendant bail and ordered him to be remanded in prison custody pending the outcome of DPP’s report.
The Court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice while Akinbode Ogunseinde will remain in prison custody till 5th November, 2019, when the DPP’s report is expected before the Court.
However, the matter may be transferred to the High Court if the DPP report finds him culpable and recommends that he should be tried for defilement.
