A 55-year old man, John Anah, has reportedly exhibited unruly behaviour in Lagos by crying and begging a 12-year old girl for sex.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Grammar School by CMS Road in Bariga, Lagos, where they reside.
It was gathered that Anah targeted the victim, went to where she was sleeping and laid on top her while crying and pleading with her to open her legs and allow him to engage her in a sex romp.
The victim, who was said to have been terribly afraid, raised alarm which attracted other neighbours who went in and rescued her.
The matter was reported to the police in the area and Anah was arrested. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Police Command for investigation.
At the Gender Section, he admitted that he approached the girl for sex but never engaged her as she had declined before raising alarm.
On why he was crying, he said he did not realise when he did so while insisting that he did not rape her.
However, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for sexually harassing a minor.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Christopher John, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since the defendant pleaded not guilty.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. Peter Nwaka, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail conditions. The matter was adjourned till 19th June, 2019.
