Man, 60, Docked For Fondling Breasts & Engaging Girl, 16, In S*x

A 60-year old man, Oke Joshua, has landed in trouble in Lagos State after he allegedly engaged a16-year old girl in a sex romp having fondled her breasts, getting her confused and unable to resist his moves. 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Onasanya Street, Bariga area of Lagos, where they reside. 

The suspect, Joshua, was alleged to have lured the victim to his apartment and used words of mouth to hold her. He then fondled her breasts and she became more confused. As she was unable to resist him, he then allegedly raped her in the process. 

Having satisfied himself and allowed her to go, the girl realized herself and was shocked over what happened. She went home and told her parents what happened.

The matter was reported to the Police in the area and he was arrested. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Lagos State Command for interrogation. 

During interrogation, the suspect, Joshua, admitted to have slept with her but said that it was with her consent; in other words, he did not rape her as she claimed. 

However, the Police found him culpable for rape because the victim is still a minor. 
He was subsequently charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for defilement, which attracts life imprisonment or several years of imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before Court. 

When he was arraigned, the Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor,  DSP Kehinde Ajayi, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice since the victim is still a minor. 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubeinje, ordered his remand in Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of DPP advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to DPP for advice. The matter was further adjourned till 10th May 2022 for report of the DPP’s advice, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
