Man, 61, Cuts Off 11-Year Old Boy’s Hand Over Fish

A 61-year old man, Jeremiah Obifor, has been arrested in Lagos after he did the unthinkable by using a sharp cutlass to cut off the hand of an 11-year old boy, Master Goodluck Amechi, over fish.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Isha Ibrahim Street, Mechanic Bus Stop, Mebamu area of Okoko, Lagos, where they reside.
The suspect was angry that the victim went close to his fish pond and suspected that he wanted to steal his fish. He then reportedly brought out a cutlass and descended on the boy.

This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana. He said that on 7th June, 2019, at about 12.20pm, one Doris Isaac, of No.6 Ajanaku Street, Okoko, reported at Okoko Police Station that on the same date at about 8.20am, that her foster son, Goodluck Amechi, of the same address, an 11-year old, was attacked with a machete by one Jeremiah Obifor
DSP Elkana said the 61-year old Obifor, who resides at No.14 Isha Ibrahim Street, Mechanic Bus Stop, Mebamu, Okoko, cut off the boy’s right hand and it fell off. The victim was reportedly rushed to Igando General Hospital for attention.
On why the suspect did so, Elkana explained that the suspect alleged that he saw the victim around his fish pond and thought that he came to steal his fish; that was why he brought out the cutlass and attacked him.
He said investigation was still ongoing and the suspect will be charged to Court after the police have concluded the investigation on the matter.
