A 63-year old man, Paul Oyoyede, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for indecently dealing with his neighbour’s 15-year old girl by fondling her private parts and eventually penetrating her in the process.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Boladale Bolaji Oshin, Ishefun area of Ayobo, Lagos, where they reside.
The suspect was alleged to have over the years molested the girl by tempering with her private part until recently when he eventually defiled her by penetration. The girl then exposed him by informing her parents.
The matter was reported to the Police at Ipaja Division. The 63-year old suspect was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
During interrogation, he reportedly admitted to have slept with the girl but claimed that it was with her consent.
However,  there was a twist in the whole matter when the girl revealed that he had molested her for the past years by fondling and romancing her before he eventually defiled her without her consent.
The Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence, which was in contravention of Section 137 and 135 of the Criminal code of the State.
The Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubenije, ordered his remand in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned till 5th October, 2023, for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
