A 63-year old man, Joseph Nkwor, has landed in trouble in Lagos State after he allegedly lured an 8-year old girl and inserted his fingers in her private part.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Nkwor, has been arrested.
The incident happened at Mojisola Street, Ifako Ijaiye area of Lagos, where they reside.
The Police alleged that the 63-year old suspect lured the girl into his apartment, defiled her by removing her pants and inserted his fingers into her private part in order to satisfy his sexual desire.
However, the girl went home, reported what happened to her parents and the matter was reported to the Police at Isokoko Division. The suspect, Nkwor, was arrested and detained at the station for investigation over the alleged conduct.
During interrogation, the girl narrated how he lured her into his apartment, forcefully removed her pants and inserted his fingers into her private part; and after he had satisfied himself, he allowed her to go.
The Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged defilement and sexual assault.
When he was arraigned, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Mr. Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice since the victim is still a minor.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Layinka, ordered his remand in the Correctional Centre pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned pending when the DPP’s report will be ready, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
