Man, 64, Sent To Prison For Engaging Girl, 14, In Sex For 6 Years

A 64-year old man, Taiwo Kundus Ilesanmi, has landed in prison after he reportedly confused his neighbour’s 14-year old girl in Lagos and allegedly engaged her in sex for six years.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Ilesanmi was said to have started engaging the victim in sex romps since the year 2013 and had continued unabated until recently when it was exposed.

The victim was said to have revealed what she passed through for that period of time at Kulade Street in Abesan Estate, Ipaja area of Lagos, where they reside.

It was gathered that Ilesanmi, who was married and had grand children older than the victim, reportedly instilled fear in her and had started the abuse by insertion of fingers into her private part before he started having sex with her for those years. He was said to have warned the victim not to tell anyone what he did to her by putting fear into her.
However, after bearing the burden for those years, she summoned courage and informed her parents about what she had been through.
The matter was reported to the Police and Ilesanmi was arrested. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Police Command for investigation.
After investigation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for defilement which attracts several years imprisonment.
The prosecutor asked the Court to refer the matter to DPP for advice because it was a capital offence.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. Peter Nwaka, ordered the defendant to be remanded in prison custody without an option of bail.
The Court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice while the defendant will remain in prison custody.
The matter was adjourned till 13th June, 2019.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the matter may be transferred to the High Court if the DPP finds Ilesanmi culpable and recommends him for trial for the alleged offence.
