Man, 65, Arrested For Raping Girl, 10

A 65-year old man, Sulaiman Rauf, was arrested by men of Ogun State Police Command on 7th April, 2019, for having unlawful carnal knowledge of a 10-year old girl (name withheld).

P.M.EXPRESS reports as was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, on behalf of the Ogun State Commissioner of Police.

Oyeyemi said that the arrest of the suspect followed a complaint lodged by the father of the victim, one Fahinhun Matthew, who reported at Idi-roko Divisional Headquarters that the suspect who is living in their neighborhood sent his daughter on an errand and when the girl came back, she was lured into his room where he forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.
The Police Spokesman, Oyeyemi, explained that when the girl came out of the suspect’s room, she quickly informed her father of what the suspect had done to her hence the report.

Upon the report, the DPO Idi-roko Division, CSP Aloko Amodu, swiftly detailed his detectives to N0. 7, Araromi Street Ilase, where the suspect resides, and he was promptly arrested.

On interrogation, the randy old man admitted having carnal knowledge of the victim but claimed not to know what led him to it. The victim has been taken to the General Hospital for medical attention and report.
Meanwhile, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Bashir Makama, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to Anti-Human trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for proper investigation and prosecution.
