A 79-year old man, Segun Majiyagbe, has landed in trouble after he allegedly grabbed Bishop Oluranti Odubogun’s land in order to resell with an estate agent in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Wale Edu Street, off Azeez Oladosu Street, Majiyagbe Layout, Ipaja area of Lagos State, where the land is located.
The Police alleged that Pa Majiyagbe and an estate agent, identified as Prince, invaded the place, destroyed properties and took possession of the land.
However, the matter was reported to the Police at Ipaja Division and he was subsequently arrested and detained for interrogation in order to know why he encroached into the land.
After thoroughly interrogating him, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for forceful entry and malicious damage to properties.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Mr. Simeon Njue, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.S. Okubule, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
However, he was remanded in Correctional Centre pending when he will perfect his bail conditions while the matter was adjourned till 20th October, 2021, for mention.
