A 24-year old man, Gbenga Peters has been arrested and charged before a Lagos court for his alleged involvement in an indecent and sexual assault of a 6-year old girl in Festac Town Lagos.
Peters was said to have inserted his finger into the victim vagina, an action the police considered an assault and arrested him for.
The incident happened at 201 Road, Festac where both the suspect and the victim parents reside.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the suspect allegedly lured the little girl into a room and abused her.
He reportedly pulled her pant and ‘fingered’ her private part to his satisfaction before he let her go.
However, the act was exposed after the little girl informed her parents what happened when they were not around.
It was gathered that the girl’s mom drew her closer and checked her vagina and observed that she had bruises inside.
The parent confronted Peters who initially denied and when the matter was reported to the police, he reportedly admitted and said he did not penetrate her.
Peters was charged before Ogba Magistrates’ court with unlawful and indecent assault under the Criminal Code.
He pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs Davis Abegunde granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Peters was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was further adjourned till 15 May 2017.
