A 35-year old man has been arrested by the police operatives from New Oko Oba Police Station in Lagos, for defiling his daughter.
The 15-year old girl was said to have ran to the police station to report that her father has been having sexual intercourse with her since the year 2017 and whenever she refused he will threaten to stop paying her school fees.
The 15-year old victim also told the Police that her father made her to abort a pregnancy and that when she reported the matter to their Church Pastor her father stopped her from going to the Church.
Following her complain, the Police immediately arrested the suspect who was identified as Michael Igbanibo, a native of Ogoja in Cross River State.
However, the suspect was released on bail before the news got to the Human Rights Office who ordered that the suspect be rearrested and that the case should be transfered to Isokoko Police Station for him to be charged to court.
The investigating Police Officer, IPO, in charge of the case, Inspector Stella, declined to speak with our reporter and the OC JWC/Human Rights of the Station, Inspector Modupe, could not be reached to comment on the case. The case has been transferred to Isokoko Police Station.
