Police operatives from Ketu Division in Lagos have arrested a man, Happiness Sunday, for sexually molesting two siblings, a boy, 10 and girl, 8, through the anus and private part.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Sunday, defiled the little girl by penetrating her private part while at the same penetrating the boy through the anus.
The incident happened at Jaiye Oyedotun Street, Magodo area of Lagos State, where they reside.
The Police alleged that the suspect, Sunday, lured the victims into his apartment and molested them by forcefully penetrating them before he allowed them to go. The dastardly act was later reported to their parents and the matter was reported to the Police. Sunday was then arrested and detained at the Station for interrogation.
He was said to have admitted committing the alleged offence and the Police then charged before the Ogba Magistrate Court for prosecution.
However, the Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Supol Benson Emerhi, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
Hence, the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. P.E. Nwaka, ordered Sunday to be remanded in prison custody without an option of bail and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned till 15th September, 2020, for report of the DPP’s advice to be available. The matter may likely be transferred to the High Court if the DPP finds him culpable and recommends his trial for the alleged offence.
