CYRIACUS IZUEKWE
A 24-year old man, Iwuchukwu Chibuzor has been arrested and charged before a Lagos court after he went to a drinking joint, bought drinks and later flaunted Police Complementary Card to avoid payment for the drinks.
The incident happened at Prince Close, Richfield in Ajao Estate where the bar was located.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Chibuzor went to the bar and requested for seven bottles of beer and wine which were served to him.
When he finished drinking, he brought out a police Complementary card bearing one Chief Superintendent of Police CSP Godwin Effiong and presented it to the bar owner, Ada Nzemiro and attempted to walk away.
However, the woman insisted he should pay her but the suspect refused.
The bar owner then contacted the police at Ajao estate division who arrested Chibuzor and took him to the Station.
At the Station, he confessed that he was not the bearer of the name on the Complementary card neither was he a member of the Police Force.
He was charged before Isolo Magistrates’ court for impersonation and stealing.
He pleaded not guilty for the alleged offence .
The presiding Magistrate, Mr A.O Ogbe granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail .
The matter was adjourned till 18 Äpril 2017.
