CYRIACUS IZUEKWE
The police have arrested a 26-year old man, identified as Victor, for sexually abusing a 2-year old girl by inserting his finger into her anus.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ejigbo area of Lagos where they reside.
The suspect was said to have inserted his finger into the victim’s anus to the extent that blood gushed out, he was unable to control it and was eventually caught.
It was gathered that Victor was watching a movie in his apartment when the victim came in. He reportedly removed her pant, inserted his finger forcefully and eventually injured her. While trying to stop the flow of blood, the mother of the victim who was then looking for her eventually found her in Victor’s room where he was battling with the situation. When the mother carried her and discovered the blood, she raised alarm that attracted other neighbours.
The suspect confessed and pleaded for leniency but the victim’s parents took the girl to the Ejigbo Police Division and reported the matter. Thus, the DPO ordered for the arrest of Victor. During interrogation, he confessed and blamed the devil for his action.
When PM.EXPRESS correspondent visited the police station to speak with the DPO, CSP Olabisi Okuwobi, she was said to have gone to the State Police Command for CP’s briefing.
However, police sources confirmed the incident and told our reporter that the DPO had directed that the matter be transferred to the Gender Section of the Command.
It was gathered that Victor may likely be charged to court for rape after the conclusion of the investigation because the victim was a minor. He may be in jail for several years if he is tried and found guilty by the court for the alleged offence.
