A 34-year old man, Mr. Livinus Michael has been arrested for using his apartment as chalet especially for teenagers to assist them satisfy their sexual desires in Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS scooped that Michael said he did so to assist teenagers who could not afford money to lodge in a hotel, but he collected some token as commission for that purpose.
The incident happened at Oremeta Street, Ojudu, Lagos, where he resided.
The police alleged that Michael had exercised control and influence on prostitutes in the area by using his apartment as chalet. It was gathered that the suspect rented the place but later turned it to a chalet and also constituted a kind of nuisance in the area. The residents were said to be worried and expressed concern because those Michael was purportedly assisting was their relations and children. It was also gathered that the area was turned into where all kinds of vices were committed like smoking of hard drugs, violence among others.
The matter was reported to the police who arrested Michael and shut the place.
He was later charged before Ikeja Magistrates court for the alleged offence.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Mr. Benson Emuerhi did not oppose his bail but asked the court to give a short date for the adjournment.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. O.Sule-Amzat granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The matter was adjourned till 27 July, 2018.
Michael was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
