Police operatives from the Lagos State Command have arrested a suspect, Monday Alfred, for being in possession of human body parts hidden inside plastic bucket for preservation.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Alfred, was apprehended but his accomplice, who escaped, is now at large. He was nabbed on 17th May, 2023, by the Police patrol team along Ori-okuta Old Shagamu Road, Imota, Lagos State.
The suspect and his accomplice were spotted on a motorcycle riding on top speed heading towards Shagamu from Imota. The Police suspected their movement and immediately they were stopped by the Police for routine search, both men jumped down and ran into the bush.
However, the Police gave them a hot chase and eventually arrested Monday Alfred of Isale-Aye Araromi Mota while the second suspect, whose name was not disclosed, escaped through the bush paths.
The Police searched Alfred and found two cut hands suspected to be human body parts inside a liquid suspected to be alcohol in a plastic bucket.
The Police recovered them as exhibits including their operational motorcycle as well as his mobile phone while efforts are being made to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the arrest and stated that the suspect was in Police custody undergoing interrogation over the criminal conduct while efforts were being made to arrest his accomplice, who is on the run.
He stated that the suspect will be charged before the Court for criminal trial for the alleged offence but that will be after the conclusion of investigations by the Police.
