A 39-year old, Oluwajobi Abiodun, has been arrested after he reportedly assaulted and battered a police sergeant, Ikhanubiode Christopher at a police station in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Zone D Command, Mushin, Lagos, where the victim was attached and was performing his lawful duty on uniform.

Many people who knew about the assault wondered what would have given Abiodun the courage to attack and assault the victim at the Command.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Abiodun has a disagreement with the police officer, he mobilised his group who came and were shouting on the victim inside the Command. He was said to have assaulted the police sergeant by raining blows on him and pushing him in the presence of other officers inside the Command. The other officers then came out, arrested and detained him at the Command. The suspect however denied that he assaulted the officer contrary to the claims of the police.

However, Abiodun was charged before Isolo Magistrates court for assault.
The prosecutor, Mr. Oje Uagbale informed the court that the defendant had mobilized a group of people to the Command where he humiliated and assaulted the police sergeant before he was arrested. He did not oppose his bail condition as the case was a bailable offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Teluwo granted Abiodun bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter has been adjourned till 18 June, 2018.
