Man Caught Having Sex With Neighbour’s 12-year Old Daughter

A man, one Jamiu Sipe, has landed in trouble in Lagos after he was caught having sex with his neighbour’s 12-year old daughter.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened in their compound located at Ondo Street in Irawo, Ajegunle Bus Stop in Ikorodu, Lagos.

It was gathered that Sipe lured the victim into his apartment, locked the door from inside and touched her breasts before removing her pant and forcefully had sex her. He then warned her not to tell anyone including her parents about what happened.
However, before he allowed her to go, their neighbour who had suspected the movement raised alarm and waited for the victim to come out. She was confronted and she opened up on what happened,

The victim’s parents were contacted and the matter was reported to the police at the Gender Section of the State Police Command, Lagos; he was arrested and detained for interrogation.

P.M.EXPRESS scooped that during interrogation, he admitted that he penetrated her but did not force her before they engaged in it.
However, the police found him culpable because of the age of the girl and charged him before the Ogba Magistrates court for defilement.
The court did not take his plea and denied him bail after the prosecutor; Inspector Christopher John informed the court that it was a case of defilement of a minor.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. Peter Nwaka, directed the prosecutor duplicate the file and send it to DPP for advice.
It was gathered that if the DPP finds him culpable, the matter will be transferred to the High Court because of jurisdiction for trial. He may spend up to 10 years in prison if he was found guilty after trial.
The matter was adjourned pending the availability of the report of DPP.
