A 30-year old man, Azeez Ashiru, has landed in trouble in Lagos after he allegedly tricked a 22-year old lady into sex romp without her consent.
The incident happened at Ogunde Street, Agric area of Ikorodu, Lagos where they reside.
It was gathered that the suspect, Ashiru, lured the victim into his apartment, confused her and engaged her in a sex romp before allowing her to go.
However, the 22-year old victim alleged that he obtained sex without her consent and reported to the police that Ashiru had raped her. Thus, he was arrested and detained over the allegation for interrogation.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that during interrogation, Ashiru admitted that he slept with her but that during the romp she did not complain and it was with her consent.
However, the victim denied that she consented and insisted that she was induced and raped by Ashiru.
He was charged before the Ogba Magistrates court for sexual assault against the victim.
The prosecutor, Inspector Christopher John, informed the court that the victim was an adult but she was sexually molested by the defendant and penetrated without her consent.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. Peter Nwaka, did not take his plea and refused him bail.
The court ordered him to remanded in prison custody and directed the prosecutor to duplicate his file and send to DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned till 9th October, 2018, when the DPP advice may be ready.
However, if the DPP finds him culpable, the matter will be transferred to the High Court for trial.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Ashiru may spend many years in prison if he was tried and found guilty for the alleged offence.
