A 20-year old man, one Usman Aliu, has been arrested after he was caught cooking his neighbour’s missing fowl in their compound.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Sewage area of Jakande Estate in Ejigbo, Lagos, where they reside.

The missing fowl was said to belong to one Joseph Ubon. According to police, on October 23, 2018, Aliu allegedly stole the fowl valued at N5,000. The matter was reported to the police at Ejigbo Division; Aliu was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation.

How the owner discovered that it was Aliu that stole the fowl was not stated by the police. However, it was gathered that the owner got the information from their neighbours who saw him when he was cooking the fowl and informed the owner.
P.M.EXPRESS scooped that at the police station Aliu admitted that it was his friend that gave him the fowl and he did not know that it belonged to Mr. Ubon. He was asked to provide his friend but he was unable to do so.
Thus, he was charged before the Ejigbo Magistrates court and he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector G. Simon, did not object his being granted bail.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T.O. Shomade, granted Aliu bail in the sum of N10,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 21st November, 2018.
