A 40-year old frustrated electrician, Victor Edem, has finally committed suicide over his inability to impregnate his wife, who had moved out of their matrimonial home due to the weak erection, which he had suffered for several years.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Okpanam, close to Asaba in Delta State, where he lived with his family.

The Police said that the deceased was found dead on Monday night inside his room hanging on ceiling fan, where he had been living with his wife and son before they got separated last year as a result of the erectile challenge.

Late Edem, a native of Calabar, Cross River State, had confided in one of his friends about the challenge, threatening to take his own life if he could not find a cure to the ailment.

It was also gathered that Mr. Edem had been spending so much money on the ailment to no avail until he got frustrated along the line and decided to commit suicide.

The residents of the quarters, where Mr. Edem lived, expressed shock and said that the deceased went through “pathetic and inhuman torture” in the hands of his ex-wife as a result of the ailment before packing out of his house.

According to the residents, it became clear that Mr. Edem’s dick was not working after his repeated efforts to stay with a couple of women proved difficult. Those women usually walked away from him over failed erection.

When contacted, the State Police Commissioner, Hafiz Inuwah, confirmed the incident, saying that it was clear that the victim intentionally decided to take his own life as he did not leave any suicide note.

Mr. Inuwah, however, said that two telephone numbers were found inside the room where Mr. Edem’s body was dangling from the ceiling.

One of the elders in Okpanam Community disclosed that Mr. Edem had committed an abomination by taking his own life over his alleged erectile malfunctioning, stressing that the deceased might face “dire consequences” in heaven.

“The curse of Okpanam Community is upon him as it remained a taboo for anyone to commit suicide in the community” he said.

The corpse has been deposited at the mortuary for autopsy report and it was not certain if the family will retrieve the corpse for burial.
