A man, Mustapha Lawan, has landed in trouble in Kano State for allegedly peeping at his co-tenant’s wife, who was having her bath inside the bathroom.
P.M.EXPRESS reports the suspect, Lawan, has been arrested and charged before the Shari’a Court sitting at Kofar Kudu, Kano, for the alleged infringement on a woman’s privacy and intimidation.
The defendant was alleged to have targeted the complainant while she was taking her bath and started peeping at her from a wall hole leading to the bathroom while the woman was already naked.
While he was still busy peeping, he was caught in the act by a neighbour, who then raised alarm which attracted other neighbours including the victim’s husband.
The matter was reported to the Police in the area. He was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Court for the alleged offence.
He pleaded not guilty.
The Presiding Judge, Khadi Isa Rabi’u Kademi Gaya, granted him bail with conditions which he must fulfill before he will be released from custody.
The matter was adjourned till 10th July, 2024, for hearing while the defendant was remanded in custody pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
