A 47-year old married man, Mr. Efe Emakpor has been arrested for allegedly inserting his finger into the private part of a 3-year old girl.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at New Garage in Ojota area of Lagos where the victim’s mother brought her to her shop.
It was gathered that the victim was laid at her mother’s shop as she went to attend to a customer. The suspect was said to have gone inside the makeshift shop where the victim was sleeping, opened her pant and inserted his finger into her private part. While he was doing so, the mother came into the shop, saw what he was doing and raised alarm.
The matter was reported to the police at Gender section of the Command; the suspect was arrested and detained.
P.M.EXPRESS scooped that during interrogation, the suspect admitted that he inserted his finger into her private part but did not penetrate her.
The police found him culpable and charged him before Ikeja Magistrates court for indecent assault.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Mr. Benson Emuerhi asked the court to use its discretion in granting the suspect bail to enable him come to court to face trial.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Sule-Amzat granted him bail in the sum of N250,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Emakpor was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 25th October, 2018.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that if the defendant faces trial and he is found guilty, that he will spend several numbers of years in prison custody for the alleged offence.
