A man, Abdullahi Adamu, has landed in trouble in Lagos State after he allegedly lured his neighbour’s 12-year girl and attempted to seduce her into sex by touching her breasts but the girl resisted and exposed him.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Adamu, has been arrested.
The incident happened at Railway Compound, Ebute Metta area of Lagos, where they reside.
According to Police sources, the suspect, Adamu, returned early from work at about 4pm when the girl’s parents were not around and lured her into his apartment. He was said to have fondled her breasts and buttocks in order to get her confused and lure her into the act.
However, the girl reportedly resisted the moves and raised alarm, which forced him to allow her to go. She then went home and informed her parents about what happened.
The matter was reported to the Police at Railway Division. The suspect, Adamu, was then arrested and detained for interrogation over the conduct. While being interrogated, he was said to have denied and told the Police that he did not penetrate her because she raised alarm.
The Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ebute Metta Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
When he was arraigned, the Court denied him bail and ordered him to be remanded in Correctional Centre following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Supol Paul, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
The Court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
