CYRIACUS IZUEKWE
A 10-year old boy had his anus ruptured in Lagos after a 34-year old man forced his joystick into it to derive sexual satisfaction.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Paul Anyanwu Street, Era town in Ijanikin area of Lagos where they reside.
The suspect, one Trust Ezekiel, has been arrested for defilement.
It was gathered that the suspect returned from work, lured the victim into his apartment, removed the boy’s clothes and inserted his joystick into his anus after rubbing a cream on it.
After the dastardly act, he allowed the victim to go but warned him not to tell anyone about what happened.
However, blood was dropping from the victim’s anus and he told his parents what happened.
The matter was reported to the police in the area and Ezekiel was arrested. The matter was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Police Command for interrogation.
The police found Ezekiel culpable and charged him before Ogba Magistrates Court for defilement.
The court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Mr. Danny Raphael, informed the court that the victim was a minor and needed the DPP advice on the matter.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O.Osunsanmi , ordered Ezekiel to be remanded in prison without an option of bail .
The court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned pending the outcome of the DPP advice.
The defendant may be transferred to the High Court if the DPP finds him culpable. He may be handed a long prison term if he is tried and found guilty of the alleged offence.
