Man In Trouble Over S*x With Girl, 11

A man, Taiye Ganiyi, has landed in trouble after he was allegedly caught having unlawful sexual intercourse with an 11-year old girl in Lagos State

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Ganiyu, has been arrested.

The incident happened at Thomas Street, Ikorodu area of Lagos, where they reside.

The Police alleged the suspect, Ganiyu, to have lured the girl to his apartment, locked his door from inside and forcefully penetrated her.

However, while he was reportedly still in the act, the information leaked and he was eventually caught.

The matter was reported to the Police in the area and from there Ganiyu was arrested and transferred to the SCID, Yaba, Lagos for interrogation.

After thorough investigation, the Police found him culpable after he reportedly admitted to have slept with the girl but with her consent.

He was subsequently charged before the Ebute Metta Magistrates Court for defilement.

When he was arraigned, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Mr. Olatunde Kehinde, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. O.Ekundayo, ordered his remand in correctional center pending the outcome of the DPP’s report.

The matter was adjourned till 3rd March, 2022, for the report of the DPP to be ready, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction
